Personal Protective Equipment

Many industry operations require personal protective equipment to be worn by workers to avoid injurious effects on the body and to safeguard workers in the event of accidents.  Personal protective equipment is specifically addressed in subsections of the OSHA regulation 29 CFR 1910 Subpart I, Personal Protective Equipment. These subsections include:

  • 1910.132, General Requirements
  • 1910.133, Eye and Face Protection
  • 1910.134, Respiratory Protection
  • 1910.135, Head Protection
  • 1910.136, Occupational Foot Protection
  • 1910.137, Electrical Protective Devices
  • 1910.138, Hand Protection

CIH Environmental Solutions experts assess the personal protective needs of employees and recommend appropriate programs to be implemented as part of occupational exposure assessments or safety reviews.  Appropriate respiratory protection can also be determined by CIH Environmental Solutions based on potential exposure scenarios. From this a written respiratory protection program and testing service can be provided.

Once the programs are developed, specialized training is conducted in house or on site by experts utilizing digital imaging, audience interaction and hands on tools to effectively achieve workers’ awareness of the subject.
